Ingredients:
200g caster sugar
200g softened butter
4 eggs
200g self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 average size boxes of smarties
Method:
1. Heat oven to 190c/ gas 5. Butter two tins and line with non-stick baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, mix the caster sugar, butter, eggs, self-raising flour and baking powder together until you have a smooth soft mixture. Now take your smarties and tip them into your mixture and mix. But NOT with an electric whisk unless you want them crushed!
3. Divide the mixture between the two tins evenly. Smooth the top with a spoon and if you want to decorate make a tiny dip in the middle of the mixture so it will rise evenly. Bake for about 15-20mins until golden brown colour
4. Turn onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely. A good thing to do is put jam or Nutella in the middle of the middle of the two cakes to give it extra flavour.
